As a consortium, Houston ARCH exists on the basis of cooperative and collaborative public meetings among interested parties. This brief timeline documents some of the milestones that collaboration has achieved.

August 2008 – The downtown Houston Public Library hosted an LGBT History meeting as part of its monthly LGBT speaker series, bringing together a wide array of people who have been collecting Houston's LGBT history in some shape or form.

December 2008 – An informal lunch was held at Rice University, at which community members discussed the prospects for greater community coordination, and what next steps might look like.  The consensus was that not all of the stake-holders were involved in the conversation, and another meeting should be convened.
